Melanie founded her design studio in 2012 with a passion for transforming spaces and homes. By bridging the disciplines of Architecture and Interior Design, Melanie Williams Bespoke Interiors provides clients with a streamlined, design led and architecturally focused service. All aspects of architecture, interior design and bespoke furniture design are integrated in-house, resulting in an efficient and cohesive design output.

A limited number of commissions are taken on each year, allowing Melanie to personally oversee all projects. She benefits from the expertise of a team of experienced and specialist consultants and craftsmen to deliver each project and draws on several years of professional experience in architectural practice, as well as her formal architectural training at the prestigious Royal College of Art, to bring exceptional creativity and a distinctive design edge to all projects, whatever their size and ambition.

Our approach is collaborative and highly personalized. We work closely with our clients to conceive and deliver projects that are tailored to meet their unique aims and are responsive and reflective of context and budgets. We provide well-considered and bespoke design solutions that often exceed expectations.

Testament to this is that so many projects undertaken have been born of personal recommendation, referrals and repeat client commissions.

I had the pleasure of working with Mel on my NYC Duplex Townhouse last year, she came highly recommended by another client. I was initially quite nervous about working with someone overseas but Mel alleviated those fears straight away – It isn’t often that you are able to find a true partner on a project. We receive so many compliments on our home and were recently featured in the New York Post.

Nikki, New York, USA

Melanie’s approach was that she was practical, resourceful and flexible. Her plans for remodelling the structure of the flat were ingenious. She managed to maximise storage whilst retaining all the beautiful details of a period building. Moreover, I really enjoyed the interior design process, with her detailed mood boards.

Sophie, Athens, Greece

We love the outstanding use of space that our new home has. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Melanie and would recommend her to anyone… but especially those who don’t know where to start!

Paul, London, UK

Thanks to Melanie, we were able to maximise space while tastefully incorporating the original features of the house. She was an absolute pleasure to work with; extremely thorough, responsive and professional and really took control of the project which helped ease a lot of our stress!

Sophie, Athens, Greece

Melanie’s ideas are both innovative and practical, she listens to what is required and provides solutions. She is very approachable and proficient and I would not hesitate to recommend her.

Hamptons House

Our New York based clients acquired an incredible corner plot with its own private beach overlooking Shinnecock Bay, with a small dated property which did not suit their needs or way of life. The original house was demolished making way for a new home. This has been designed in close collaboration with the client, taking account of the strict local planning rules, local vernacular and immediate context. We led the architectural design of the new build 6 bedroomed house, its external terracing and pool area as well as being appointed to design all of the interiors with a modern, neutral and coastal theme, befitting its views over the bay waters.

Detached Family Home

Clients which we had worked with previously appointed us to take on the design of a rear extension for their new family home, a detached 6 bedroom turn of the century home in a Conservation Area. We have worked closely with our clients to remodel the whole house including adding a new floor by converting and reconfiguring the roof space. We have also been asked to design several key rooms including kitchen and dining room, home bar, master suite, a unique 3 level playroom and 4 bathrooms.

HQ Offices

We have been appointed to design the interiors of the offices within the new head quarters of a Cotswolds based business. We are also seeking planning permission for the exterior architectural alterations required by the client.

Period Family Home

We were asked by previous clients to design and oversee the interior refurbishment of their new turn of the century home. The client wanted bold interiors with a nod to vintage italian interior style. We have introduced plenty of colour and contrasts whilst respecting the original period art deco details throughout the home.
We have designed bespoke joinery for each room as well as a number of bespoke pieces of furniture.

Cotswold Barn

We have designed and overseen the refurbishment of a number of key spaces within this dated Cotswold stone barn, set within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  Phase 01 has resulted in a reconfigured and renovated family home with a better flow of internal spaces and improved country kitchen-dining space, as well as boot room, playroom and 2 home offices. Phase 02 is to extend the barn and we have designed a new 2 storey extension to allow for improved master suite and additional flexible ground floor space. Planning permission has been granted and the result will be a refreshed country retreat which balances many rustic characteristics with the needs and style of a busy modern family.

Detached Family Home
We were commissioned to work on 2 phases of renovation of this family home. Phase 01 involved seeking planning permission for the remodelling of the entrance and extending of an adjoining coach house annex improving the front facade architecturally as well as improving the sense of arrival to the home.
Phase 02 involved the full renovation and remodelling of the interiors of the home to modernise it and tailor it to the client’s busy family needs. We designed the interiors in close collaboration with the clients and created spaces for family life and social gatherings.

Period Family Home

We were appointed to design a new rear extension for this elegant period Edwardian home in a Conservation Area. As part of our designs, we also proposed new interior layouts to improve the flow of spaces and better suit the needs of our client’s family. New roof extensions have allowed for an improved second floor including home office and a fun play space for our client’s children. We were also asked to provide interior design schemes for key rooms within the house to create a consistent and considered full scale refurbishment and interior flow.

Townhouse Apartment

Knightsbridge Townhouse

We were invited to design and refresh the interiors of several of the principle rooms within this grade 2 listed townhouse. We installed incredible lighting features and finishes as well as new bespoke joinery throughout to elevate these spaces and to create focal points and provide much needed storage.
